Examination Results

Most girls sit GCSE examinations in 10 subjects.

In the Sixth Form all girls take AS Level examinations in 5 subjects (of which one is General Studies) in the Lower 6 year, dropping to 4 A Levels (of which one is General Studies) in the Upper 6. Some girls continue with all 5 A Levels.

Tormead pupils consistently achieve excellent results in both GCSE and A Level examinations. Independent assessors confirm that their results reflect considerable ‘value added’, compared to results achieved nationally, by students of equivalent ability. Over the past five years the average pass rates have been 100% at A Level (87% at grades A and B) and 100% at GCSE (80% at grades A* and A).
