6X welcomed the new term with an assembly to celebrate the Chinese New Year.
The girls told the story of how each year became known as, and attributed to, a particular animal. They explained that although the Monkey, Dog and Dragon argued, it was the Rat who won the river race.
They also explained how each animal has a different personality and people who are born in that year are supposed to have similar attributes. People born in the ‘Year of the Rabbit’ are deemed to be affectionate and gentle.
All the girls gave outstanding performances and, in particular, Sophie demonstrated superb acting as the Rat; Jemma was a fantastic goat and Molly gave a wonderful performance as a cockerel.
