Year Three’s first topic of the year is ‘The Romans’. The girls start their study with a trip to the Roman Villa at Bignor. At the villa they are amazed by the Roman mosaics, especially that mosaic of the goddess Venus, whose eyes seem to follow you around the room. The girls also enjoy first hand experiences of grinding corn and using a wax tablet and stylus.

After the half term holiday, the girls return with mighty Roman shields. They then perfect the tortoise manoeuvre in the Department's gym, whilst being ‘attacked’ by foam balls thrown by their teacher!
