‘I didn’t realise how much linen was used to wrap a mummy!’
‘The statue of
Ramesses was enormous. I don’t know how they got it into the museum!’
‘I couldn’t believe they pulled out all the soft organs when they made a mummy!’
These are just some of the recollections from Year 5 of their trip to the British Museum. The girls went as part of their Ancient Egypt topic. Later in the year, the girls will spend not one, but four days, away from home and school when they travel to Hay-on-Wye for their Activity Week. The highlight of this week is the ‘Mud Challenge Course’. Working together in teams, the girls tackle a variety of obstacles whilst (usually) aiming to get as muddy as possible! Of course, life in Year 5 isn’t all trips and visits and back in the classroom the girls work hard in all areas of the curriculum which now includes Latin as well as French.
