The main intake ages are Pre-Prep (4+), Year 3 (7+) , although we do consider pupils at any stage, depending on the availability of spaces.
You may register your daughter at any time but, in order to take the entrance examination, the registration form needs to be completed and sent to the Registrar, with the £100 registration fee (cheques payable to Tormead School) by 31st October of the year prior to entry. Please note that, if your child's assessment is to take place abroad, the registration fee rises to £150.

Pre-Prep: (4+)
Assessment for Pre-Prep takes place in November. Assessment takes the form of a children’s party and the girls are observed by several members of staff as they do simple tasks and interact with each other. This assessment takes an hour.
Year 3 : (7+)
The assessments take place in early January. The assessments for Year 3 involve testing in Maths, English and Reasoning. There are several parts to the tests, such as story writing, reading, spelling etc, and the children will be with us all morning. There will be a break mid-morning, when we offer the children a drink and a biscuit. Please ensure that you tell us of any food allergies that your child may have.
Reports from Current Schools
We contact your child's current school to request a brief confidential report on her academic and other achievements. A similar request is made to Nurseries and Play Groups for children joining our Pre-Prep Class.
Joining Tormead
Following acceptance of a place in the School, your child will be invited to spend part of a morning in School with her new class towards the end of the Summer Term. This will enable them to meet some teachers and perhaps make arrangements to meet some new friends during the summer holidays. Second hand uniform will be on sale in School on this day.
