When we arrived at the Science bus in our groups, the lady who ran the bus came to greet us. We were told to go into pairs, then we entered the bus and sat down at computers……

First, she took us through the procedures for making a Lego car turn its lights on and off alternately. When we had completed the task and explored the different things we could make our cars do, we learnt how to download information from the computer to our Lego cars; we had to program our cars to move. If our touch sensors were activated, we had to program our cars to go backwards, turn and then carry on forwards until it hit something again. We downloaded the information to our cars.

When we had succeeded in programming the cars, we went into a small arena at the end of the bus and played 'bumper car wars'. Unfortunately, the wheel on our car fell off while it was spinning around, but we know, for next time, not to program the car to spin for as long as 0.7 of a second!

After our amazing 'bumper car wars', Mrs Wicks gave us circulating carousels to program. We had to make an interesting, scary ride for miniature Lego people. We could make our carousel rotate and go up and down. My partner and I programmed a machine that worked for us, but when the rest of the group came to have a look, it refused to work!!
