Fencing Success for Yr 9 pupil
Year 11 scoops a hat trick

Congratulations to Elaria Rich who is getting closer to her ambition of representing Great Britain at the Olympics.

2009 was a good year for Elaria, including an invitation to join the team representing South East England in the Winton Cadet Cup, an inter- regional competition, just prior to Christmas.   “We came so very, very close to winning, a big improvement from last year when our region was fifth”.

This achievement was then trumped by a further reward for her success in competitions throughout the year, with selection to fence for England at the Paris International competition on the weekend of 6th February 2010.   There will be over 250 fencers in the girls group from all around the world.

To maintain her place on the England Team Elaria needs to compete well at at least four international cadet events each year, in addition to the UK competitions.   We wish her the best of luck.
