On Saturday February 9th, girls from local state and independent schools joined together for a festival day of netball. This was the 6th year Tormead has run its Versatility Tournament and the event proved as popular as ever. By the end of the day over 100 girls had participated in the event, with teams from 12 2schools - Tormead, Holy Trinity, St. Catherine’s, Guildford High School, Burpham Primary, St. Ives, Danes Hill, Rydes Hill, Manor House, St. Thomas of Canterbury, Queen Eleanor’s and Coworth Flexlands.
The tournament is organised so that the girls are given, at the start of the day, a random position on the netball court and then for each subsequent game need to move to a different position, requiring therefore, to be truly versatile!
Congratulations to St. Ives who won the U10 competition and, St. Ives and St. Catherine’s who shared the top position in the U11 tournament.
