This year the annual GSA’s Girls Go Green Week event will take place from Monday 3rd until Fri 7th October 2011

The purpose of the week is to allow the girls and staff to engage in a range of eco-friendly activities in order to raise awareness of environmental issues and the importance of sustainable development.

The week will also support Tormead Senior School to achieve the prestigious Silver Eco-Schools international award. The programme provides a framework for schools to adopt a sustainable journey and also a whole host of benefits such as saving money, creating links with the local community and adopt a greener lifestyle.

The Eco-Committee has planned a range of activities to celebrate this year’s Girls Go Green Week. These include a whole school assembly based on energy savings and efficiency, eco-treasure hunt, an eco-fashion challenge and also, the opportunity for all girls and staff to create their own eco-pledges. Prizes such as eco-stationary and Krispy Kreme donuts will be awarded throughout the week.
