Stunning displays of culinary excellence seen at the future competition

On Monday 10 October, 11 girls from Year7 – Year10 took part in the annual Future Chef competition.

The girls were required to produce a main course dish for two people in one hour, costing no more than £4.

The standard was extremely high this year. Mrs Holtham, who kindly returned to judge the contest, commented on the high level of skills demonstrated and the fine attention to detail given in the presentation of their dishes.

The overall winner was Tayla in Year 9 who made an appealing chicken dish served with sautéed potatoes and balsamic cherry tomatoes.

We wish her luck for the regional final in November, where she will be required to cook a two-course meal in two hours, keeping within a budget of £6.
