World Book Day, 2012 was celebrated with Tormead’s usual panache!

The Sixth Form students seized the opportunity to demonstrate their literary knowledge by presenting themselves as their fictional alter egos, whilst Year 6 and 7 pupils engaged in a discussion with one of their favourite authors, Lyn Gardner.

Later, Lyn Gardner, as theatre critic of The Guardian, also provided the older pupils with a lively insight into her work.

The day continued with numerous book-based activities such as a quiz, survey and use of the World Book Day app. in the School Libraries, reflecting – as did Ben Haggarty’s delighted audience earlier in the week – young people’s continuing love of stories.
