The wait is finally over

The wait is finally over, and with UCAS TRACK offline until 8am many of the girls arrived in school unaware if they had been successful in their University applications.

But the girls’ tremendous efforts were rewarded.

25 girls (42%) were awarded the top A* or A Grades in all their A Level exams. 63% of the A Level exams taken received the Grade A*A – in fact 95% of all exams taken were graded A*/C.

And to add to the excitement Rowenna McGill and Lauren Smart opened their results live on Dave and Lisa’s breakfast show on Capital Radio!

The vast majority of girls will be going to their first choice university to study a diverse range of courses such as Medicine at Oxford, Natural Sciences at Cambridge, Veterinary Science at Liverpool, Physics at Exeter, Oceanography at Southampton, Classics at Exeter, History at Exeter, Modern Languages at Bath and Economics at Bristol.

Christina Foord, Headmistress at Tormead said “I am thrilled that the girls have done so well and we are pleased that the preparation they have received here at Tormead means they will be ready to grasp the opportunities that await them as they take this next exciting step in their lives.

I am pleased that once again we have been extremely successful securing places for the girls to read the most competitive subjects. This year we have girls leaving to study Medicine at Bristol, Birmingham, East Anglia, Leeds and Oxford. I know all the girls are very grateful to the staff for their hard work and dedication to ensure they achieved the best grades possible. We all wish them well.”
