Choir Sings Live on Radio 4

28 girls from Years 6-8 travelled to Manchester to sing live on BBC Radio 4 as part of The Daily Service which is broadcast from Emmanuel Church, East Didsbury every weekday.

The girls sung two hymns, and two anthems ‘Peace Between Nations’ by Christopher Wiggins and ‘Shout for Joy’ by Alan Bullard. Emma Flack also read the lesson from the Prophet Micah.

The choir was directed by Mrs Salmond Smith and accompanied by Mr Holford.

This was a return invitation from the BBC extended to those in Years 6-8 involved in one of our school choirs.

The choir stayed in the YHA in Manchester and also experienced a tour round the set of Coronation Street and a dance workshop at the Lowry Gallery.
