The Surrey Hills were awash with young people and their backpacks this weekend. The DofE expedition season is in full swing.

Newlands Corner, with its stunning views, provided the start point on Saturday for the  Year 10 Bronze Duke of Edinburgh’s  Award practice expedition. The girls camped overnight near Hurtwood and continued their routes on Sunday, arriving back at Newlands Corner tired but happy!

The qualifying expedition will take place next month (giving the blisters time to heal!)

Well done to the eighty girls who took part – you all did really well.

Where next?
