Year 1 trip to Painshill Park
Year 1 had a fabulous day out at Painshill Park. We spent the morning looking at different plants and trees and collecting willow twigs. We then stripped the bark off our twigs, cooked them over a fire, to turn them to charcoal, and used the charcoal to draw with. The girls created some wonderful artwork and used paint made from chalk and mud to finish off their pictures. Next we made amazing mud creatures on the trees using leaves and pine cones for the features. After lunch we headed off on our pirate treasure hunt, the girls used their map reading skills and followed the clues through the park until they found the treasure! We all had a fantastic day.
