Tormead sweep the board at the 39th ISGA National Gymnastics Finals

Last night (Sunday 5 March 2017)  Tormead swept the board at the 39th ISGA National Gymnastics Finals, taking 5 out of 6 of the team titles and winning the overall 2017 ISGA School Championship for the third time.

The 5 piece competition is the jewel in the ISGA crown and Tormead was not only defending their title as overall ISGA School Champions but also hosting the three day gymnastic competition.  Over 400 gymnasts from 27 schools aged 8 -18 took part and the level of gymnastics was superb, with many national gymnasts competing for their schools.

The U9, U11, U13, U15 and O13 were all crowned ISGA Champions with the U10 team coming second in their age group.

Tormead is unique in producing home grown talent across the range of age groups as all their gymnasts train in school. Generally the top 20 gymnasts in elite competitions such as these will be artistic gymnasts training over 20 hours a week with a club – apart from 2 girls who also train with a club, all the Tormead gymnasts train only at school. Which makes their success this weekend even more satisfying.
