Year 11 Tormead girls were not going to be outdone by the leaving Class of 2017 when it came to results and celebrations.
Christina Foord, Headmistress, is delighted: “With nearly 60% of all entries being awarded the top A* grade and over half of all girls gaining all A*/A, there was much for the girls, the staff and the parents to cheer.
What is especially pleasing is that amidst all the media coverage of Maths and Science dominating the qualifications, always areas of great strength for us, the girls and staff have excelled across a wide curriculum: French and Greek grades were 100% A* whilst over 90% A*/A grades were scored in History, Drama, Geography, Latin, Religious Studies, Music and German.
Add to this the very many extra-curricular contributions the girls make to the school and beyond and Tormead’s aim to provide an all round education is clear.
These young women have a very exciting and fulfilling Sixth Form to which to look forward: roll on September!”
