Gymnasts Named Regional Champions at South East Floor and Vault Competition
Tormead entered eight teams in total from U11 through to U19 over the two-day event, which is an important qualifying competition for our National squads aspiring to reach the British Championships in May. Only the first place team goes through to reach the National Finals. The strength and depth of talent amongst the gymnastics squads meant Tormead fielded more than one team in both the U14 and U19 categories, with both these teams taking a bronze medal.
In the U14 Regional category, Tormead entered two teams of girls from our Development squad. These teams followed up on their recent success at the Milano Trio finals and placed first and second respectively. The girls demonstrated some powerful vaulting and beautiful floor routines.
Congratulations to all gymnasts for a hugely successful weekend! Now the preparation begins for the forthcoming ISGA National Finals at the beginning of March.
