An open letter to Tormead Staff from the TPA (Tormead Parent Association)

Dear Mr Boyd

As we enjoy a very socially distanced half term holiday, I want to take this opportunity on behalf of the TPA (and I hope all Tormead parents), to express our admiration and thanks for your commitment to ensuring the best possible remote schooling for our children since the start of this lockdown. We recognise that this new way of working must take you longer to prepare for and is very different to teaching in person. We wanted to let you know that your continued efforts are hugely valued and appreciated, particularly when you will have your own situations to deal with at home, too.

I also want to thank those staff involved in planning and delivering the virtual co-curricular programme and House activities. These bring a little light relief from academic lessons.

Whilst we hope for an easing to the national restrictions soon, as parents we are very grateful that you are providing our children with quality teaching and learning opportunities, together with the pastoral support.

Finally, we would like to recognise the unsung work of many other staff who support behind the scenes, whether providing vital remote IT support to students, providing on-going administrative support, or helping maintain the site. We appreciate it is a team effort and, without them doing their important work, we would not be in such a good position to open the school back up when the time comes.

Wishing you all a well-deserved break over half term.

Thank you.

Lisa Howie
