David Boyd, Head, said, “Today we celebrate, with great pride, the achievements of all our GCSE students, who have performed so well, under such challenging circumstances and a modified assessment system, this year. With 89% of girls awarded grades 9-7, this year’s cohort of Year 11s deserve every success and have earned these outstanding grades against a backdrop of uniquely difficult conditions. Throughout their GCSE course they have demonstrated the skills and attitude that we encourage and foster at Tormead: resilience, confidence and a sense of perspective. I’d like to thank my colleagues too for their dedicated support of our students during the last year. I’m very much looking forward to welcoming the girls back in September for the start of their A Level courses.”
