Tormead passes all aspects of rigorous ISI inspection

We are very proud to report that Tormead, was compliant in every standard set by the Independent Schools Inspectorate (ISI) in their recent Regulatory Compliance Inspection, conducted at the beginning of November.
Additionally, the ISI had no recommendations to make in areas that the school might improve.

The inspection included an examination of the following eight areas of the school:

  • Quality of Education provided
  • Spiritual, moral, social and cultural development of pupils
  • Welfare, health and safety of pupils
  • Suitability of staff, supply staff and proprietors
  • Premises of and accommodation at school
  • Provision of information
  • Manner in which complaints are handled
  • Quality of leadership in and management of school.

The inspection noted that ‘the school seeks to value individuality and celebrate diversity, encouraging pupils to be themselves, all within a happy, caring and supportive environment, whilst developing tolerance, respect and dignity, a sense of personal responsibility and the ability to work in a team … and aims to instil in pupils a love of learning, the ability to think independently and the self-confidence to prepare for the  challenges of adult life.’

Furthermore, the report also commented that ‘teaching enables pupils to make good progress, encompasses effective behaviour management and is supported by suitable resources.’

David Boyd Head, said “I am delighted that Tormead passed the compliance inspection in every regard and with no further recommendations for change. I would like to take this opportunity to thank my colleagues for their hard work and support.
