Streamed to classrooms across the school, the show kicked off with Nelson House performing their ‘Abba’ themed extravaganza! From Mamma Mia to Thank You for the Music, no classic was left without the Tormead treatment. Some great fashion designs were showcased, included denim ruffles, flares, a dress made from playing cards and plenty of sparkle!

Next to showcase their talent was Wellington House with their theme of ‘Villains’. In homage to Maleficient, Hades and the Joker, the girls did a great job of re-using and upcycling every day items to create character-inspired costumes. Alongside their fashion designs, the audience were treated to some fantastic acrobatic tricks as well a range of dance genres including ballet and tap. A highlight of Wellington’s performance was the tribute to Mean Girls and the villainous character of Regina George, including a classic performance of Jingle Bell Rock!

With a great theme of ‘TV Series’, Nightingale took to the stage and the crowd instantly loved the recognisable theme tunes. A Bridgerton inspired dance opened the performance, with a very fitting regency period costume, before the stage transformed back to the 21st Century with Gossip Girl inspired fashion taking over the catwalk. Other highlights included Stranger Things, Grey’s Anatomy (where the girls wowed with their dance moves), before some very familiar staff faces took to the stage for an animal print explosion as the Tiger King and Carole Baskin!

Finally, Livingstone closed the show with their performance, based on ‘Crime’. This was a great theme and the creativity shown from girls across the school was amazing – designs such as a ‘flaming’ dress for Arson and a costume made completely of Monopoly money for Grand Theft were so imaginative and really pushed the boundaries of the Dance and Fashion Show.

It was a tough decision for our three judges to conclude who was deserving of the trophy this year, but Nightingale ultimately came out on top – well done girls!
