BSGA National Schools’ Floor and Vault Finals

It has been an amazing year of gymnastic accomplishment again this year and last week’s BSGA National Schools’ Floor and Vault Finals did not disappoint. Three teams from across the Prep and Senior School competed to retain the school’s national titles. In the Under 11 category, the team of Gracie, Aimee, Amelie, Eleanor, Ava and Sasha worked hard to win the Overall Under 11 title. Isabella, Jess, Niamh, Sienna and Maggie fought some tough competition in the Under 14 age group and achieved an amazing second place and Emilie, Emily, Leonie, Carrie, Lyra and Olivia won the coveted Under 19 All-Round title.

In addition to these amazing results, Carrie was also awarded the Gold Medal for highest scoring Under 19 gymnast across both the Girls and Mixed categories. An amazing achievement considering the strength of competition across the whole country!

British floor and vault finals now being over sees the close the gymnastics season for another academic year. Tormead are again national champions in five of the six Independent Schools’ Gymnastics Association competitions, national champions in three of the four British Schools’ Milano competitions and national champions in two out of three British Schools’ Floor and Vault competitions.

I could not be more proud of all the gymnasts and would like to say a huge thank you to all the parents and staff that have supported the gymnastics programme this academic year. I am excited to get back to the gym now and prepare for more amazing results next year. Well done!
