Enrichment prize winners – update us on their progress so far

Update from our worthy winners of the Inaugural Enrichment Award

We kicked off our inaugural project, Queen of Magic, in January and a lot has happened already! We are well underway with the writing process and are having weekly meetings as we craft a script collaboratively. Excitingly, we’ve been selected to take part in Camden People’s Theatre’s Big Bang night on 14th March, where we will perform a 20-minute, work-in-progress excerpt of the piece, so that’s the date on our horizons at the moment (https://cptheatre.co.uk/whatson/Big-Bang-March-14). We’ll then be working towards our full-length work-in-progress sharing at the end of April at Farnham Maltings, where we will invite an audience to feedback their thoughts on the piece with us to help us improve the show as we finalise it. This is really important to us as we want the show to involve audience interaction and it’s hard to test that without an audience…! Our most recent update is that we have started magic lessons – we had our first lesson with Jayne Corrigan, the only woman ever to be voted Bristol’s Close Up Magician of the Year. Even via Zoom, we were both absolutely captivated and are thirlled to have started our journey learning magic and already buzzing with ideas about incorporating it into Queen of Magic.
