Caroline Lawrence visit

Our pupils in Years 5 to 9 were very lucky to have a visit from the acclaimed author, Caroline Lawrence, best known for her ‘Roman Mysteries’ series. This 17-book series televised by the BBC in 2007/8 follows 10-year-old Flavia Gemina, as she and her group of friends solve mysteries all over the Roman empire. Caroline has also written books about the Wild West and Ancient Greece.

Caroline gave our pupils a workshop on how to write a myth-based story, touching on topics within both Classics and English. Our Year 9 pupils then participated in a series of workshops exploring different aspects of the Roman world, from cooking and comedy to love and lore.
