Chamber Choir at Portsmouth Cathedral

On Wednesday 9 November, Tormead Chamber Choir travelled to Portsmouth Cathedral for the first time ever to sing Choral Evensong in place of the resident cathedral choir.

We were accompanied on the organ by Dr David Price, Portsmouth Cathedral’s organist and Master of the Choristers. The choir sung music by Charles Wood and Bob Chilcott. Solos were sung clearly and beautifully by Isobel, Holly, Raha, Ella and Kate. In between the rehearsal and the service, there was time for some retail therapy in the Gunwharf Quays shopping precinct. We were all delighted to sing, and keen to return another year to this lesser known cathedral with its beautiful acoustics.

Martin Holford, Assistant Director of Music
