Sports Facilities
Sports Hall
Our spacious, multi-purpose sports hall can accommodate a wide range of sports and activities. Perfect for year-round use, it’s particularly useful for sports training during colder months. The hall can be set up for a variety of sports, including (but not limited to):
- Badminton: Four full-sized courts with nets and posts
- Hockey: One indoor court with sideboards and goals
- Cricket: Four-lane indoor net facility with quality bowling matting
- Netball: One full-size court with posts
Gymnasium (Sprung Floor)
The gymnasium features a sprung floor, making it suitable for gymnastics, cheerleading, dance, fitness classes, and other floor-based activities.
Fitness Suite
The fitness suite is available for clubs or instructors running classes or personal training sessions. The suite includes:
- 2x multi-functional bench and squat racks
- Bumper plate sets
- 1x olympic bar & 1x technique bar
- 2x incline and flat benches
- 2x sets of cables with attachments
- 4x spin bikes
- 1x assault bike
- 1x cross trainer
- 1x concept 2 rower
- 1x one console treadmill
- Dumbbell & kettlebell sets
- Floor mats, weighted balls & step up blocks
- Box jumps, wall throws & other functional equipment
Outdoor Netball & Tennis Court(s)
Tormead School has four full-size outdoor netball and tennis courts, available for clubs, schools, or organisations for training sessions and matches.
Music, Theatre & Events
JCS Auditorium
Tormead’s auditorium is a versatile space for music performances, theatre productions, conferences, and community events. It is equipped with professional facilities, including:
- Seating: 137 in total (109 in the main area, 12 by the control booth, plus 16 extra seats that can be added to the front row)
- Lighting: Simple stage-right control included in the hire fee; advanced lighting desk in the control booth available at extra cost
- Sound: Behringer mixing desk with multiple audio inputs (extra cost applies)
- Other features: Front-of-stage projector and screen with HDMI input, lectern, stage curtains
Retractable seating allows the space to be adapted for exhibitions, workshops, fitness classes, and other activities beyond theatre.
Main Hall
The recently refurbished Main Hall is a large, flexible space suitable for music and theatre productions, presentations, exhibitions, competitions, and community events. It features modern sound and lighting systems, a stage, and IT equipment for presentations. Seating can be removed to suit different setups.
Key features include:
- Seating capacity: 400 total
- Lighting: Simple control included; advanced balcony lighting desk available at extra cost
- Sound: Allen & Heath audio desk with stage microphone and audio input options (available at additional cost)
- Other features: Rear and front projectors, projector screens, HDMI and USB-C input, lectern, and stage curtains
Atrium
The Atrium is a large, open-plan space suitable for catering events, exhibitions, or community gatherings. Removable tables and chairs allow flexible layouts, while hot counters, chillers, and storage make it easy to manage catering needs.
Key features include:
- Capacity: 214
- Tables & chairs: 27 large (6 person) tables, 13 small (4 person) tables, 214 chairs
- Catering facilities: 2x hot counters, 2x chillers, storage cupboards (all available for use at an additional cost)
Lecture Theatre
The Lecture Theatre is an intimate, focused space for presentations, lectures, workshops, training sessions and guest speaker events. Equipped with a large TV screen, IT equipment, excellent lighting, and a podium, this space is available to provide a professional and comfortable environment for engaging events.
Key features include:
- Seating capacity: 46
- Lighting: overhead and in-wall lights
- IT Equipment: 85” flat screen TV with HDMI input (non-touchscreen)
- Other features: lectern and moveable whiteboard
Library
Recently refurnished, the library offers a welcoming and quiet space which is perfect for book clubs, meetings, and study groups. With a range of cosy areas, including sofa lounge areas, study desks, and a roundtable meeting room, the library offers a comfortable and relaxing environment. Optional extras include: 1x 85” and 1x 75” touchscreen TVs with USB-C docks.

Tormead offers a range of classrooms for hire to suit different activities. Options include standard classrooms, drama and music rehearsal rooms, art and food tech spaces, or lounge-style rooms, providing flexibility for clubs.
