Main Sports Hall

Our spacious, multi-purpose sports hall is a versatile indoor venue that can be adapted for a wide range of sports and activities. Perfect for year-round use, it’s particularly beneficial for sports training during colder months. The hall can be set up for a variety of sports, including (but not limited to):

• Badminton: Four full-sized courts, complete with nets and posts
• Hockey: One indoor court, with full sideboards and goals
• Cricket: A four-lane indoor net facility with high-quality bowling matting
• Netball: One full-size, sprung floor court

Gymnasium (Sprung Floor)

Our gymnasium features a high-quality sprung floor, suitable for gymnastics, cheerleading, dance, fitness classes, and other floor-based activities.

Fitness Suite

Tormead School’s fitness suite is available for organisations looking to hire a venue for fitness classes or personal training sessions. The suite features:

• 2x multi-functional bench and squat racks
• Bumper plate sets
• 1x olympic bar & 1x technique bar
• 2x incline and flat benches
• 2x sets of cables with attachments
• 4x spin bikes

Hockey Pitch

Our brand new, full-sized MUGA Astroturf pitch is exclusively available for hockey training and matches. The pitch is all-weather purposed, sand-dressed, and fully floodlit.

Athletics Track + Long Jump (Undergoing Development)

Our recently developed athletics track offers an excellent facility for a range of track and field events. The 400m polyurethane track features six lanes, and upon request, we can also provide access to two brand new long jump sand pits. This venue is available for schools, clubs, and training groups seeking an outdoor space for athletic training and events.

Grass Field Pitches (Undergoing Development)

Located next to the hockey pitch and athletics track, Urnfield will also feature:

• Two full-size 11-a-side football pitches
• One 9-a-side football pitch

The field is also suitable for other outdoor sports, including rugby, rounders, and more. This spacious area is perfect for junior teams and clubs looking for an open space, outdoor venue for training and matches.

Cricket Pitches (Undergoing Development)

Urnfield will feature three outdoor cricket pitches, including:

• One artificial wicket pitch
• Two grass strips

Wicket Cricket Net(s)

Urnfield offers a 6-lane artificial wicket cricket net facility, available for practice and training.

Pavillion (Undergoing Refurbishment)

The Urnfield Pavillion is currently undergoing refurbishment. Once complete, it will offer a fantastic space for fitness classes, community activities, and other group events – all with breath-taking views overlooking the Surrey Downs.

The pavilion will also serve as a convenient venue for those using the other Urnfield facilities to regroup and access toilet and changing facilities. Please note, access to the pavilion for this purpose will be separated from other activities in the pavilion.

Auditorium (Music & Theatre)

Tormead’s auditorium is an ideal space for music performances, theatre productions, conferences, or community events. Equipped with professional facilities, the auditorium includes:

• Seating capacity: 137 total, including 109 in the main body, 12 by the control booth, and an extra 16 which can be added to the front row
• Lighting: “stage right” simple light control box included in hire fee, with a more advanced lighting desk in the control booth available at extra cost
• Sound systems: Behringer mixing desk with multiple audio input types – available at an extra cost
• Other features: front of stage projector and screen with HDMI input, lectern, and stage curtains

With retractable seating, the space can easily be adapted for a wide range of activities beyond theatre, including exhibitions, workshops, and fitness classes.

Main Hall

Tormead’s Main Hall is a large, recently refurbished space, perfect for a wide range of events including theatre & music productions, presentations, exhibitions, competitions, and community gatherings. It is equipped with modern sound and lighting systems, a stage, and IT equipment for presentations. The hall offers flexible seating, which can be removed to adapt the space for different types of events.

Key features include:

• Seating capacity: 400 total
• IT equipment: rear and front projector screens and projector with HDMI and USB-C input
• Lighting: simple light control box included in hire fee, with a more advanced lighting desk on the balcony available at extra cost
• Sound systems: Allen & Heath audio desk and expander unit for microphone and sound input for the stage – available for use at an additional cost
• Other features: stage with curtains

Atrium

If your organisation is looking to host a catering event, exhibition, or community gathering, the Atrium offers a vast, open plan space with great flexibility. With removable tables and chairs, it can be adapted to suit your specific requirements. The Atrium is also equipped with hot counters, chillers, and storage space, making it perfect for events that require catering services or food storage.

• Capacity: 214
• Tables & chairs: 27 large (6 person) tables, 13 small (4 person) tables, 214 chairs
• Catering facilities: 2x hot counters, 2x chillers, storage cupboards (all available for use at an additional cost)

Lecture Theatre

The Lecture Theatre is an intimate, focused space which is perfect for presentations, lectures, workshops, training sessions and guest speaker events. Equipped with a large TV screen, IT equipment, excellent lighting, and a podium, this space is available to provide a professional and comfortable environment for engaging events.

• Seating capacity: 60
• Lighting: overhead and inwall lights
• IT Equipment: 85” flat screen TV with HDMI input (non-touchscreen)
• Other features: lectern & moveable whiteboard

Recently refurnished, the Parsons Library offers a welcoming and quiet space which is perfect for book clubs, meetings, and study groups. With a range of cosy areas, including sofa lounge areas, study desks, and a roundtable meeting room, the library offers a comfortable and relaxing environment. Optional extras include: 1x 85” and 1x 75” touchscreen TVs with USB-C docks.
