This year’s House Drama Competition, which took place the week before half term, was filled with creativity, laughter and thought-provoking performances. The theme was ‘Connection’ and pupils from Year 7 to 9 were encouraged to perform stories with strong social messages, comedy and drama pieces.

Each House performed a total of three pieces. As always, each performance was full of original ideas that showcased the incredible talent we have here at Tormead.

Highlights from the afternoon included a murder mystery gone wrong by Nightingale House, a comedy inspired by a DofE expedition from Nelson House, a production of ‘United Nations for Biscuits’ by Wellington House which asked the burning question Is a Jaffa Cake a biscuit?, and a dramatic exploration of how the future of technology is influencing our social lives from Livingstone House.

Congratulations to Livingtone, who were this year’s winners and a big thank you to our wonderful judges: Tash, a Tormead alumna with a passion for drama and performing in theatre productions, and Grant, who is a Producer and General Manager for numerous shows in London’s West End.
