Organ Enrichment Session
On Thursday 11 May, Tormead’s Senior Music Scholars were treated to an enrichment session on the organ led by Mr Holford. The organ is a fantastic, but less well-known, instrument. We visited two different organs at St Mary’s and Holy Trinity Church, Guildford. Mr Holford explained how the organ worked and our scholars had the opportunity to play the organs in both churches, which were quite different. They discovered how different the organ is to a piano! To finish, Mr Holford entertained us with an astounding rendition of the famous organ piece ‘Toccata’ by Widor.
