Music trip to Handel Hendrix House

On Tuesday some of us Tormead musicians got the chance to visit the Handel Hendrix House and perform with others schools whilst being recorded by a professional camera crew! There were around 100 of us in total, so the sound was very lively and acoustic, especially at St George’s Church in Hanover Square where we went for the afternoon to perform an additional piece with everyone, as well as a quintet arranged by Miss Parry – “The Tormead March”. We all had a really enjoyable experience playing with other schools and friends were made along the way as well which was really great.

Grace (Year 12) & Zenith (Year 11)

It was a real pleasure to take 28 of our instrumentalists to a very special day at the Handel Hendrix Museum. Those who were a certain level at violin, flute, oboe, bassoon, trombone, trumpet and French horn were invited to recreate Handel’s Fireworks music in his very house. It was a total privilege to meet the one and only Katherine Jenkins, who came to see what we were doing and give the musicians some advice about performing and recording. The day culminated in a very special performance at Handel’s place of worship, St George’s church Hanover Square, where all of the schools came together to showcase the day’s work.
