The Nelson Charity Day dedicated to supporting Shooting Star Children’s Hospices charity was a day filled with fun and enthusiasm. With the non-uniform theme of stars, students and teachers created a vibrant and unified atmosphere. Nelson House was lucky enough to have an inspiring talk from the CEO of Shooting Star, where he shared the charity’s mission and impact and also showed the amazing facilities that they have. It was interesting to learn where the money that Tormead raised would be used within the charity. The day continued with a mini fete, where various stalls offered games, treats and challenges, including a Tombola and Hook-A-Duck. During lunchtime, students gathered to decorate stars that now fill the Christmas tree in the Atrium. Thank you to everyone who donated money, as Nelson House learnt the money will be greatly appreciated and put to good use. I am delighted to say that we have raised just short of £500 for this very worthwhile cause. To find out more about the charity, please visit their website here.
