Please find below answers to some of the frequently asked questions about the Open Mornings we hold at Tormead School throughout the year. If you have any other questions, please reach out to our Admissions team on: admissions@tormeadschool.org.uk
Who will I hear from at an Open Morning?
Our Open Mornings are a wonderful opportunity to explore our facilities, meet current staff and pupils, and get a feel for life at Tormead.
At our Tormead Prep School Open Morning, you will hear from our Head, Mrs Nicki Fry, and our Head Girl Team. This will be followed by a Q&A session and a tour of the school (both Prep and Senior sites).
Tormead Senior School Open Mornings begin in the Main Hall with a warm welcome from our Head, Mr David Boyd; our Deputy Head (Academic), Mrs Mary Price; and Deputy Head (Pastoral), Mrs Heather Southwell. This will be followed by a Q&A panel of current students from Year 7 and above. You will then be invited to take a guided tour of the school led by our Year 8/9 pupils.
Throughout the morning, representatives from key areas of school life will also be available, including Admissions, Academic, Pastoral Care, Learning Support and Co-Curricular Activities (trips, art, music, drama, and sport).
How long do Open Mornings last?
Please allow two hours to attend our Open Mornings. For our interactive Open Morning, which takes place on the last Saturday of each September, please allow an extra hour.
Where can I park at an Open Morning?
Tormead School is in a residential area of Guildford and there is plenty of parking available on the roads surrounding the school. Due to the popularity of our Open Mornings, please allow plenty of time for the short walk to the school campus.
For our interactive Open Mornings, which take place on the last Saturday of each September, a local car park is available for our guests to use as an alternative to parking in the residential roads around Tormead School.
For those arriving by train, we are just a short walk from London Road Station.
Can I bring siblings to an Open Morning?
Yes, certainly. All members of the family are welcome to attend.
Attend an Open Day Event
Tormead School is where girls thrive, thanks to our value-added education which focuses on each girl as an individual. Our latest ISI inspection in October 2024 commended our supportive and nurturing environment which enables pupils’ academic and emotional growth. We would be delighted to welcome you to one of our forthcoming Open Events to meet our Heads, David Boyd and Nicki Fry (Head of Prep School) and hear from our girls as they explain what they like best about Tormead.
