Drama Trip to Pride and Prejudice (*sort of)

The Drama GCSE and A Level students were treated to a fantastic drama trip to the Yvonne Arnaud Theatre in Guildford on Thursday 14th November. They witnessed an all-female reinterpretation of Jane Austen’s classic novel titled Pride and Prejudice (*sort of) which contained equal amounts of comedy and music.

Performed as a play-within-a-play by the five strong cast who acted as both the servants and the gentry, their clever storytelling was modernised in terms of language but still truthful to Austen’s original work. It was consistently funny and their use of hilariously well-chosen karaoke songs at pivotal moments added to the riotous atmosphere. The students all said how much they enjoyed it and it really was a lovely trip from start to finish.
