Senior School

At Tormead, we recognise that our pupils learn best when they are happy, and feel known and valued as individuals. The Senior School consists of:

• Lower School: Years 7, 8 and 9
• Upper School: Years 10 and 11
• Sixth Form: Lower Sixth and Upper Sixth

The progress and welfare of every girl is monitored carefully by their Form Tutor, along with the Heads of Year (for Years 7-11), and the Head of Sixth Form. A wide range of extra-curricular clubs and activities are available during lunchtimes and after school to extend the girls’ social development.

Each girl is a member of one of four Houses: Livingstone, Nelson, Nightingale and Wellington. Weekly House meetings and termly events, such as House Music, House Sport and other charity events, see all the girls taking part. As well as providing fun camaraderie, allegiance and friendly competition, the House system provides girls with an opportunity to mix with different ages throughout the Senior School.
