Summer Soloist evening

On Thursday evening we hosted our Summer Soloist evening in Senior School. This was a wonderful opportunity for some of our more junior musicians to perform a solo alongside some of our more seasoned musicians and chamber groups. We were treated to performances on a range of instruments, from the harp and flute to the piano and violin, along with both Classical and Musical Theatre singing. Das Rosenband impressed us with a beautiful rendition of two movements from Quartet No. 1 by Pieter van der Staak and Saxophone Quartet with a highly rhythmic performance of Gumbley’s ‘Back Beat Boogie’.

As ever, we were bowled over by the pupils’ musicality and their sensitivity of playing. All our performers showed such commitment to their performances and presented real showmanship on stage. Congratulations to all our performers.
