Head of Prep Prep
How would you describe the Pre-Prep at Tormead in one sentence?
“Tormead Pre-Prep is a vibrant, nurturing space brimming with joy, enthusiasm and endless opportunities for learning and discovery!”
What should parents know?
“At Tormead, we believe that nurturing personal growth holds equal value to achieving academic excellence – and together, they form the heart of our philosophy. From the earliest years, we empower our girls to become confident, resilient and inquisitive learners. Our pupils thrive in an environment that champions their voice and strengthens their independence. With endless opportunities in music, sport, art and beyond, each pupil can explore diverse experiences, discover her passions and unlock her potential.
In the Pre-Prep, we take the time to understand each child and we firmly believe that establishing a strong relationship between home and school is key to supporting every child’s growth. Open, consistent communication with families to keep you connected and involved in your child’s journey is a top priority. Our girls bounce into school each morning, eager to dive into a day filled with learning and discovery. Our nurturing, caring environment, helps our pupils feel safe, inspired and excited to embrace new challenges – every single day.”
What do you most enjoy about working with the youngest girls?
“Quite simply, working with young children is my passion. I love this age group for the endless rewards it brings. It is a privilege watching the incredible progress they make in such a short time and helping them establish positive attitudes towards learning that will carry them into the future. Being the first stepping stone of their journey, seeing their personal and academic growth, and celebrating these achievements truly make working with young children a joy and inspiration.”
Advice for parents?
“I have two pieces of advice for parents. Firstly, cherish every moment with your daughter. Time passes so quickly and these years are precious. Enjoy the small moments and embrace the joy of watching her grow. Secondly, take the time to explore the world together. Experiencing life alongside your daughter opens her eyes to new wonders and enriches her understanding beyond the classroom. Whether it’s a walk in nature, a museum visit, or simply trying something new together, these shared experiences will nurture her curiosity and deepen her learning. Discover the wonders of the world hand-in-hand — it’s a gift that will stay with you and her forever!”
What makes you most proud about working here?
“Without a doubt I am most proud of the amazing girls! It is a joy supporting them in becoming confident, curious, articulate and resilient young women, or as Mrs Fry puts it, Future Women Leaders.”
