Tormead Invitational Hockey Tournaments

Tormead hosted an U12 Invitational Hockey Tournament at Surrey Sports Park on 25 November. The Tournament was a round robin format with seven schools participating. The U12’s have had a good season so far and were confident going into the game. The girls won all six of their matches, scoring 14 goals and not conceding any, and finished in 1st place with a total of 18 points. A fantastic result, well done.

The U13 Tournament took place on 2 December. There were two pools of four teams and Tormead needed to finish top two in their group to qualify for the knock-out competition. At the end of the pool stages, Tormead were joint top with LVS and had drawn on goal difference and their head-to-head result which meant both teams had to participate in Penalty Strokes to decide the winner of the pool. Unfortunately, Tormead were second best and therefore finished second in the pool. The U13’s played Gordon’s School in the semi-final and after a tough game, lost 2-1 putting them into the 3rd/4th play-off where they faced Sir William Perkins’s School. Another tough game for Tormead that ultimately saw them lose 1-0 which meant they finished the tournament in 4th position. Well done to all the players.
