Tormead Singing Festival

Our annual Tormead Singing Festival took place on Wednesday showcasing some of our incredible vocalists. The event was judged by guest adjudicator, Dr Amy Bebbington, Director of Training for the Association of British Choral Directors and co-founder of the London International Choral Conducting Competition, who had the difficult job of choosing our four winners. The first category to be announced was Intermediate Classical, which was won by Bella with her haunting rendition of ‘Time to Say Goodbye’. Born performer, Christina took home the prize for Intermediate Contemporary with her energetic performance of ‘Don’t Rain on My Parade’ from the musical Funny Girl. After a short interval, judging of the Senior Classical category commenced, with Charlotte’s beautiful interpretation of Vivaldi’s Domine Deus claiming the top prize. Our Senior Contemporary category was the last to be judged, a tough feat which saw three highly commended awards being handed out – but in the end it was Sophie’s performance of ‘Heart of Stone’ from the hit musical Six which clinched the award. Thank you to all our talented performers and congratulations to our winners and highly commended singers.
