On Friday 13th June, nearly 300 pupils, staff and family members gathered to celebrate an outstanding year of sport at Tormead. The annual Sports Awards Evening shone a spotlight on the dedication, achievements and spirit of our sportswomen across 12 different sports.

Player of the Season and Most Improved trophies were awarded for each sport, alongside Contribution and Recognition awards, as well as the presentation of Tormead Half and Full Colours. The evening’s most prestigious honours were awarded to Amelie P (Lower School Sportswoman of the Year), Emily E (Upper School Sportswoman of the Year), and Izzy K, who was named Whole School Sportswoman of the Year. 

Guests enjoyed a delicious hog roast and a range of refreshments, and many took part in a silent auction with fantastic prizes, raising funds to support the ongoing development of our Urnfield Sports Ground.

We were also honoured to welcome Baroness Tanni Grey-Thompson as our guest speaker. Her inspiring address, full of powerful anecdotes and insights from a career that includes 11 Paralympic gold medals, over 30 world records, and now a role in the House of Lords, captivated the audience and was a real highlight of the evening.

It has been a hugely successful year of sport at Tormead, and the Sports Awards was a fitting celebration of all that has been achieved. Long may that continue in to 2025-26!
