We are delighted to announce that Rydes Hill Preparatory School & Nursery will be joining the Tormead family from 1^st September 2025. 

Rydes Hill and Tormead have enjoyed a close relationship for decades, with many Rydes Hill girls choosing Tormead for their senior education. This partnership will allow each school to continue to focus on its strengths, and to retain its individuality, whilst reaping the benefits of joining together two excellent educational establishments.  

Rydes Hill will continue to have its own distinctive and unique style, offering the children in its care an exciting education and outstanding pastoral care, whilst having the added strength and benefits of being part of a wider school family. 

As members of the Tormead family, Rydes Hill pupils will have access to Tormead’s first-class facilities, including the newly completed Urnfield Sports Ground; Performing Arts Centre; brand new library; multi-purpose sports hall and gymnasium; science laboratories; and new digital design studio. Pupils will also benefit from a broader curriculum and a wider range of co-curricular opportunities, as well as access to specialist Tormead teaching staff who will visit Rydes Hill regularly. 

Rydes Hill families with daughters will benefit from the security and peace of mind offered by being part of a “through school”, with a seamless transition from prep to senior school and no need to sit external 11+ entrance examinations. 

Tormead families will benefit from access to a year-round Nursery and Pre-Prep for both boys and girls, with the added convenience of a single drop-off point for all siblings.
