Required September 2025, part-time on a self-employed basis
We are looking to appoint an enthusiastic and passionate Visiting Piano Teacher (VMT) to teach at our exceptional school. Teaching will primarily be in one-to-one lessons but may occasionally include small groups or ensembles.
The ideal candidate will have extensive experience as both a performer and educator across all levels, with the ability to teach and inspire students from beginners to post-Grade 8. The successful candidate will deliver high-quality lessons that students enjoy and feel inspired by their musical journey.
This is part-time role on a self-employed basis, and it is anticipated that there will be up to 2 days of teaching available initially. Applicants should have flexibility with their teaching hours and availability to increase their lesson count if demand increases. Our Visiting Music Teachers are responsible for managing their own teaching schedules whilst taking into consideration other school commitments, with support available from the Director of Music.

Rydes Hill to become fully co-educational
Following the recent announcement of the merger between Rydes Hill and Tormead, we are pleased to announce that Rydes Hill Prep School will become fully co-educational in Year 3 from September 2027, followed by Year 4 in September 2028. This move is part of a phased plan to make Rydes Hill Prep School fully co-educational by September 2030, joining Rydes Hill Pre-Prep and Nursery School, both of which are co-educational.
