    Chemistry Technician 

    Required September 2024

    Full-time, term time only 

    We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic Chemistry Technician to join our dedicated and professional team to play a key role in the smooth running of the Chemistry department. 

    The successful candidate will provide specialist technical support to teaching staff within the Chemistry department and ensure the safe use and maintenance of resources and equipment.  The postholder will support a variety of teaching and learning activities, including preparation of apparatus and chemical solutions for practical work, and ensuring the safe and efficient running of the prep room. 

    The successful candidate will have experience of working within a laboratory environment and have a solid understanding of health and safety best practice.  Qualifications in handling chemicals safely and/or first aid would be considered favourably, or a willingness to undergo relevant training.  Candidates will have excellent interpersonal skills and be administratively highly efficient, with a strong attention to detail, and the ability to work independently coupled with a collaborative team approach.  

    This is a full-time position, working from 7.45am until 4.30pm, Monday to Friday, during the School’s term time.  We offer an excellent and friendly working environment, and our benefits package includes a competitive salary, free lunches when school is in session and free use of the school gym and onsite parking.

    JD – Chemistry Technician

     

    Visiting Horn Specialist 

    Required for September 2024

    We are looking to appoint a Visiting Horn Specialist (VMT) to join our exceptional school.

    The successful applicant will be an experienced and enthusiastic Horn Specialist who will have the initiative and ability to inspire and motivate pupils, building on the successes of our department and contributing to its further development.  They will work with pupils across the Prep and Senior Schools and will be comfortable teaching from beginner to advanced level.

    Currently we have approximately 3.5 hours of teaching available however this may increase. We are looking to promote and grow the horn section within school. Our ideal candidate will:

    • be a passionate teacher and a committed team player
    • plan and deliver inspiring instrumental lessons which allow students to make excellent progress
    • be an excellent communicator with pupils, parents and staff
    • be able to inspire all pupils from Reception to A-Level
    • be an excellent performer
    • contribute towards the music department through seeking out and delivering special opportunities to increase uptake and nurture those already learning
    • Meet the individual needs of students according to ability and experience, grouping students in same/similar ability lessons
    • Prepare students for external music examinations and for school-based performances
    • Provide updates as necessary around student attendance to lessons
    • Whilst at work, to take reasonable care for own health & safety and others who may be affected by their work and to co-operate with the governing body and its management to enable them to maintain a safe and healthy workplace

    Lunchtime Supervisors (Prep)

    Required ASAP

    Monday to Friday – 12.00-1.15pm Term Time Only

    We are looking to appoint a number of lunchtime supervisors to supervise the pupils in our Prep School during lunchtime/playtime. The suitable candidates will contribute to a happy, safe and supportive environment.
