We expect that our girls will make the move seamlessly ‘over the road’.

There is no 11+ assessment for our girls as her progress is tracked through rigorous testing during her time at Tormead Pre- Prep and Prep School. GL Assessments, CAT 4 tests and internal Tormead examinations will indicate whether your daughter will flourish academically in the Senior School.  

For our girls who are eligible to apply for Art, Drama, Music and Sport scholarships, a scholar’s assessment and interview will take place in January. 11+ Academic Scholarships will be offered to current Tormead pupils based upon an entrance interview held in the Autumn Term and a review of their ongoing classwork and assessment results.

The girls have an opportunity to meet with their Senior School Form teacher and new classmates on ‘Move Up Day’ in the term before starting Year 7.

During Year 5, our unique ‘crossing the road’ programme further prepares girls for the move to Tormead Senior School. The programme enhances both confidence and familiarity with the Senior School, whilst instilling a sense of excitement and aspiration in the next stage of the educational journey.

We achieve this by exposing girls to a wide range of enriching, Senior School based (and led), activities, taster lessons and events. Some examples from the 2023 programme include:
