Tormead offers a range of scholarships, available at different stages of your daughter’s academic career, to acknowledge and celebrate your daughter’s achievements and talents.
Scholarships are designed to recognise and develop the girls’ talents, interests and aptitudes, whilst providing them with both enrichment and support.
Available scholarships include Academic, Art, Drama, Music and Sport, and are worth up to 10% of the current tuition fees. The number of scholarships awarded each year is at the discretion of the Head. All scholarships, which can be held for the whole of a girl’s time at Tormead, are reviewed annually. We look forward to award-holders remaining at Tormead until they have completed their A Level examinations, thus making a significant contribution to school life.
For further details on the scholarships available at different stages, download the booklets below.
Senior School Scholarships
At 11+ entry, we offer Academic, Art, Drama, Music and Sports Scholarships. There are no separate Academic Scholarship papers or interviews and everyone sitting the 11+ Entrance Examination is automatically considered for these scholarships.
Details for how to apply for the 11+ Art, Drama, Music and Sports Scholarships are sent to all registered candidates along with their examination pack in late October.
The Governors of Tormead are committed to broadening access to the school by offering eligible parents/guardians means-tested financial support with the payment of school fees.
Each year a limited number of Entrance Bursaries are awarded to pupils who have passed the Entrance Examination and been offered a place at Tormead, but who would be unable to accept this place as their parents/guardians are unable to fund the tuition fees. Depending upon the financial, compassionate or other pertinent circumstances of the applicants, Entrance Bursaries may be awarded in the form of a discount up to 100% of tuition fees, along with assistance with extras, including residential trips.
Entrance Bursaries are awarded strictly in case of financial need and a full appraisal of financial and family circumstances will be undertaken to ensure that the scheme is reaching those who truly need the support.
A limited number of Hardship Bursaries are available for existing pupils where a change in the parents’/guardians’ circumstances has resulted in difficulty meeting tuition fees and which could result in the pupil being withdrawn part-way through a key stage of her education.
For further information on how to apply for a bursary please email bursaries@tormeadschool.org.uk.
The number of bursaries available each year is limited and therefore we are unable to consider applications after the published deadline. Interest must be registered by Monday 7 October 2024 and completed paperwork must be received by Wednesday 30 October 2024.
