U15 Gymnasts take GISGA Gold

Tormead hosted the U15 GISGA National Finals on Friday 27 February.

Teams travelled from Europe and the UK to compete in the 5 piece competition. Each team brought 5 gymnasts with the top 4 scores being used to determine the team result.

Set pieces are performed on the floor and vault as well as the girls performing their choice of  a vault and floor sequences. A group floor sequence completed the 5 disciplines.

Points were awarded for composition and execution of the moves.

GISGA has recently introduced this new category to encourage girls to continue gymnastics at this elite level.

Tormead won the U15 title, with The British School in the Netherlands in 2nd and The British School of Brussels taking third place.

Special congratulations to Sophie, Phoebe and Grace, who all represented Tormead, as they also took the top three individual places. The other Tormead team members Flossie and Eleanor collected medals for the team’s gold medal performance in the group floor sequence.
