GCSE results outscore last year’s!

Year 11 had much to which to live up: GCSE results last year were close to record breaking and then last week, the Class of 2016 sat naturally and easily in the limelight with super A Level grades and bright futures ready to be realised.

Christina Foord, Headmistress said, “Today, we are thrilled to turn the spotlight on to Year 11: with nearly 50% of all grades awarded A*, over 80% A*/A and 97% A*-B, the girls have outscored last year’s cohort and can look forward to the Sixth Form with pride, excitement and ambition.

As ever, the girls had remarkable support from the staff: it was a real team effort with 11 departments gaining 100% A* – B grades and 8 of them achieving 85% or more A*/A.

Special congratulations go to just over 40% of the girls who achieved all A*/A grades and the two thirds of the year group who scored all A*/A grades bar one”

Team GB’s Amy Tinkler was not the only award winning gymnast celebrating this morning! Sophie and Kitty were part of the Tormead team of gymnasts who won 8 different titles this year including ISGA champions, British Floor and Vault Champions and British Milano Champions. Congratulations #TeamTormead
