City of the Future: Independent Learning
The Year 9 were given the challenge of planning a City of the Future on a distance planet from Earth. The girls were tasked with developing four things: a constitution to ensure law and order, a design for the city and a foundation structure to support the weight on this water based world, to decide what cultural items e.g. Music, Drama and Art would be taken to the colony and finally to devise a food menu suitable to be eaten as they journeyed to the planet. The tasks involved a series of practical and academic challenges embracing a variety of subject departments:
