Year 10 Business Language Champions: Selling Stilton Cheese!

On Friday, a group  of  Year 10 linguists travelled to King Edward’s Witley to take part in the Business Language Champions contest. The focus of the day was a European Challenge involving sales and marketing. The girls were asked to consider what they would need to do to market and sell a typical English product, stilton cheese, at a European trade fair. They were then given a series of tasks, involving telephoning a German hotel to make a room booking, producing a trade stand design to sell the product and then making a dragon’s den pitch in their target language at the end of the day. The challenge accommodated French, German and Spanish learners in a mixed language team. It was a fantastic day and the girls received very high commendation and praise from the judges.
