Year 2 visit Bay Pond
Year 2 had a wonderful and sunny time at Bay Pond on Wednesday. The girls started their day with a food chain game where they were either mini beasts, nibblers or nobblers! The girls then went on a nature walk and minibeast hunt. The children had great fun exploring the different habitats and sorting the animals into groups according to the number of legs they had. After lunch they went pond dipping for aquatic invertebrates. The children identified blood worms, pea mussels, pond skaters and sticklebacks and then looked at the animals under a microscope which gave them the opportunity to observe the different body parts of each animal more closely. A fantastic day overall.
