DT Workshop with RGS Prep
A big thank you to Mr Lynch at RGS Prep School for inviting us to a DT tools and machinery Workshop. With assistance from the Y6 boys, our Y5 girls have been testing their practical skills. The boys guided the girls in safely using various pieces of equipment, from an electric jigsaw, soldering iron, and try square to drilling with a cordless drill and using a strip heater to bend plastic. Each girl had a great time and can’t wait to start working on new projects!
Also this week, Year 3 hosted the Y3 RGS boys for a DT evaluation workshop at Tormead. The students worked together in groups and evaluated their sewn bookmarks. They all worked well and together were able to identify the strengths and weaknesses in their designs.
